Sunshine in the Darkness

Life.
She picks you up and knocks you down.
She fills  you with joy and then kicks the air out of you.
She shows you the right way and the shows you the tempting wrong way.

When you get the time to reflect & reminisce, it can take you to some joyous or dark places
Let life chew you up and spit you out.
Let it break you & soon rebuild you into something stronger.

I know, it’ll throw unwanted situations at you, piling on you, back to back
Losing a loved one, losing your job, rejection, break-ups, frustration, uncertainty, stress, financial instability, lost time, long journeys...

Be patient, there’s a reason for everything.
Keep looking at the bigger picture. Have faith. Let go and let God guide you to the greater path you’re destined for, but don’t forget to do your part too.

Don’t concern yourself with little things;
Those people who doubt you, question you, talk down on you
Eliminate the toxicity and worry
Pay strong attention to the friend and family group you surround yourself with.

Filter these people & your focus in life and I promise your energy will improve.
No time for negative energy.

Build a positive aura for yourself,
Stay hungry for the things that enlighten you,
Love those who reciprocate love to you,
Be kind, even to the unkind.
Pray. Watch the sun rise without you even having to ask anymore.

Life has as much as you want it to have in store for you.
Go get ‘em!

Taken for Granted

Do you see how lucky you are?
How blessed you are with every little thing

We get so caught up when things go wrong
That we forget to take a look at what is going right.

If you have a house, not many have one.
If you live in your childhood home, some have never had a stable home.
If you have a bed, some have to share one bed with 3 others.
If you have a room, some have never had their own.
If you have a car, many take the bus or walk long distances.
If you have a job, some have felonies and have to make dirty money
Others don’t qualify because they’ve only had up to a 3rd grade education.
Others don’t even have the motivation to look for a job.

If you have a phone, some can’t afford a phone bill let alone a phone.

The warm water coming from your shower, some have to travel for a bucket of water and ration it for shower/food for their whole family
Some can’t afford to pay their electricity, so they take freezing cold showers.

You have a toilet, some have a hole in the dirt.

You have access to public/private education, some don’t.
If you speak clear English, some are embarrassed to speak because of their accent.
Some can’t speak English at all.

If you have traveled, some only live life knowing their own city.

You have a unique voice & power to make a change, others don’t.

All these beautiful things in front of you, count your blessings.

The Clock

We rush ourselves in hopes of satisfying everyone else's expectations

But we never allow our deep motivations any permeation
Tick tock
Is this the path you want to take?
Or is this a overused path that everyone else has made?
Tick tock
Be at peace with going at your own pace
If you look beside you, there really is no one else in this race
Tick tock
Don't let the anxiety get to you, the pressure
Things are going to come together, rest assured
Have some optimism
Don't be fooled into hypnotism
Tick tock
Stop trying to be like someone else
And start trying to be a bit more like yourself.
We are limited on time
Allow your dreams to take flight.
